Psychotherapist & Writer

I am a psychotherapist and writer and am passionate about helping others foster healthy relationships with themselves and each other through self-awareness. I believe that in self-awareness and living our lives with intention, we can break negative generational patterns and create peaceful homes for ourselves and our families. In the safety of this space of kindness, respect, and acceptance, all who reside in it can relax, rejuvenate, and express themselves authentically. From a peaceful home, partners, parents, children, and extended family and friends can grow together in a lifelong dance of reciprocity and connection.

I use a multi-modal approach to therapy where I meet clients where they are at and draw from a diverse range of therapeutic interventions. I engage with clients from a foundation of psychodynamic principles and mindfulness practices as well as having a trauma informed approach where I use many therapeutic techniques including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solutions Focused Therapy, and Person Centered Therapy.

I believe that in the safety and trust of the therapeutic relationship, clients can gain the support and connection with themselves to create peace and harmony in their lives and relationships. By nurturing self-awareness, learning and utilizing emotional regulation tools and strategies, and practicing self-care, clients can heal from multigenerational wounds and trauma so they can manage the demands and stresses in their lives in healthy and constructive ways.

I am licensed in Illinois, South Carolina, and Nevada. I have over 35 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in community, educational, and private practice settings. I have a passion for helping others and believe that therapy is about helping clients to create the positive changes that they want so they can live more authentically, nurture healthy relationships with themselves and others, and identify and work toward achieving their goals to create meaning and purposeful directions in their lives.
